Research, analysis, and dissemination within child and adolescent health and well-being
Background
In Denmark and internationally, there has been a significant increase in the prevalence of overweight and severe obesity in recent years. This results in a range of associated physical, psychological, and social consequences that could potentially lead to impaired living conditions and quality of life for children, adolescents, and into adulthood. Currently, there is a lack of necessary knowledge and resources to reverse this trend.
The National Institute of Public Health at the University of Southern Denmark and the Center for Healthy Life and Well-being are forming a collaboration aimed at generating independent knowledge that can promote health and well-being among children and adolescents in Denmark. This knowledge can provide a foundation for societal decisions and ensure that these decisions are made based on an informed basis, incorporating the latest expert knowledge and research findings.
