Adolescent weight status and mental well-being: Are peer social relations a part of the association?
Background
Adolescence is a phase of life characterized by extensive psychological, social, and physical changes. The National Research and Analysis Center for Welfare, VIVE, will use data from the "Children and Adolescents in Denmark" study to explore the connection between weight and well-being, with a particular focus on the role that social relationships with peers play in this connection. This includes both the structural and functional aspects of peer relationships.
The project will also investigate the importance of relationships with parents and the family’s socioeconomic position.
