The Centre for Childhood Health turns three years old
Spring has arrived, the sun is shining, and we have had a very special occasion to come together. The Centre for Childhood Health has turned three years old.
We marked the occasion at Designmuseum Denmark together with a number of partners, speakers, and other stakeholders, all of whom contribute to the work on children’s and young people’s health and well-being. The day was an opportunity both to look back at what we have achieved and to look ahead to the work that still lies before us.
From foundation to change
Health and well-being are crucial for a good childhood and youth. At the same time, children’s and young people’s health is under pressure in new ways, from social media to very concrete challenges such as a high consumption of energy drinks. This calls for solutions that go beyond the individual and instead address the environments that children and young people are part of.
That is precisely why working with these environments is central to the Centre’s efforts. We bring together knowledge and stakeholders, develop strong partnerships, and work to translate insights into concrete action. The ambition is to create long-term and structural change: from the individual level to broader environments, and from isolated initiatives to lasting impact.
The Centre is led by Annegrete Juul, who heads the strategic direction and the continued work to strengthen children’s and young people’s health and well-being. In the video below, you can hear her reflections from the day.
