Evaluation of treatment programs for children with overweight

The project will examine the effectiveness of prevention and treatment programs focusing on lifestyle changes. It aims to provide better knowledge about what works and what doesn’t in weight loss for children and adolescents with overweight.

The aim of the project is to generate more knowledge about which lifestyle-based interventions have been implemented for children and adolescents with overweight, and how they affect weight. The results may help municipalities and regions choose interventions based on a more informed foundation.

Background of the project

The project is an update of the report "Evidence for lifestyle interventions for children and adolescents with severe overweight," prepared by the University of Copenhagen in 2018.

The project will involve both a review of results from internationally implemented interventions and a review and evaluation of national (including municipal) lifestyle-based interventions offered to children and adolescents with overweight.
